About the role

We're looking for a Talent Acquisition & University Relations Specialist (Specialist/Sr. Specialist) to own our early-career talent strategy from the first campus handshake to the first day on the job. Responsibilities

  • Serve as Hagerman's face on college and university campuses, building real partnerships with career services offices, faculty, and student organizations.
  • Run our internship program end-to-end: recruiting, onboarding, mentor matching, development activities, and creating experiences that turn interns into full-time hires.
  • Source, screen, and coordinate hiring for internship, co-op, and entry-level roles, with a focus on candidate experience and compliant, consistent processes.
  • Manage new hire onboarding to ensure every new employee feels prepared and excited on day one.
  • Bring Hagerman's story to life on social media and through recruiting tools and technology to compete for top talent.

Requirements

  • A degree (or equivalent experience) and genuine interest in talent acquisition, HR, or workforce development.
  • Experience with ATS platforms, candidate management systems, or a fast willingness to learn them.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, comfortable presenting to a classroom or messaging a hiring manager.
  • Working knowledge of employment law and a commitment to fair, compliant hiring practices.
  • Curiosity about the future of HR, including comfort using AI tools thoughtfully and responsibly.
  • Construction industry experience is a plus, but not required.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary
  • Company-wide annual incentive program
  • Paid holidays
  • Paid time off (starting at 4 weeks per year)
  • Market-leading medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement program with company match
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Optional employer-paid life and AD&D insurance
  • Continuing education and professional development opportunities
  • Support for volunteer and community involvement
  • Career pathing and growth opportunities
  • The Hagerman Institute – customized learning and development
  • Generous employee referral bonus
  • Parental leave
