Responsibilities

  • Manage job postings for branches and departments
  • Actively screen and interview primarily branch and entry-level administrative candidates
  • Develop and execute effective hiring strategies, focusing on non-exempt front-line staff
  • Utilize a range of sourcing techniques, including online systems, social media, and community outreach
  • Build a strong pipeline of candidates through sourcing strategies
  • Provide Human Resource consultation to hiring managers and candidates
  • Recommend candidates for hire and negotiate salaries with managers and candidates
  • Coordinate with external resources to meet urgent staffing needs
  • Conduct New Employee Welcome sessions and communicate Bank and Human Resource policies and procedures
  • Represent First Hawaiian Bank and Human Resources at various recruiting events
  • Prepare and analyze staffing reports, leveraging data analytics to inform talent and business decisions
  • Manage job requisitions and postings, working closely with the Talent Acquisition team
  • Serve as primary back-up to Talent Acquisition Coordinator in new hire processing/onboarding, and other administrative tasks

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Prioritization of a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional work or office experience, with 1 year of full-cycle recruitment experience
  • Knowledge of employment and labor laws, and understanding of best practices in the industry
  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work within strict timelines
  • Active listening and strong consultative skills, with a results-driven and motivated approach
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems and proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite and HR systems
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency, able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information and exercise sound judgment in hiring decisions
