About the Role
The Talent Acquisition Partner - Closing & Conversion is responsible for driving strategic growth by securing high-performing Mortgage Loan Officer talent for designated branches or regions within a large-scale, high-production mortgage platform. This role focuses on the later, most critical stages of the recruiting lifecycle, engaging qualified candidates after initial screening phases and owning candidate conversion outcomes through high-impact closing efforts. The role involves guiding candidates through final decisions, offer acceptance, and partnering closely with internal recruiting teams and senior leadership.
Responsibilities
- Partner with branch and divisional leadership to support strategic growth initiatives across established, high-performing teams.
- Collaborate with internal recruiting teams to align on candidate pipelines, priorities, and market strategy.
- Focus on attracting and securing experienced, high-producing Mortgage Loan Officers and teams.
- Own the final stages of the recruiting lifecycle, driving candidate conversion from offer through acceptance and onboarding.
- Lead advanced-stage candidate engagement, including presenting opportunities, addressing questions, and guiding final decision-making.
- Conduct high-impact candidate closing conversations, positioning CrossCountry Mortgage’s value proposition, compensation structure, and growth opportunities.
- Influence and convert qualified candidates into hires through a consultative, relationship-driven approach.
- Partner with leadership to craft and present competitive, customized offers aligned with candidate motivations and business objectives.
- Facilitate transparent and professional discussions regarding compensation, transition expectations, and onboarding.
- Develop and execute tailored closing strategies for high-value candidates, leveraging market intelligence, production data, and competitor insights.
- Drive offer acceptance rates by proactively identifying risks and addressing candidate concerns throughout the decision-making process.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for late-stage candidates, ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience through offer acceptance and onboarding transition.
- Build and maintain relationships with top talent to understand career objectives, production drivers, and long-term goals.
- Leverage production data, market insights, and industry tools to identify trends and inform recruiting strategies.
- Maintain awareness of the competitive landscape, including talent movement and organizational positioning within the mortgage industry.
- Track and analyze closing metrics, including offer acceptance rates and declines, to continuously improve conversion strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- 7+ years of experience in mortgage banking, retail lending, or financial services, preferably within high-production or large-scale mortgage organizations.
- Experience as a Recruiting Manager at a high-performing organization supporting $2B+ in production or within a top-tier mortgage competitor ($5B+ annual volume).
- Advanced understanding of mortgage production metrics, including loan volume, pipelines, and performance indicators.
- Skilled at leveraging data, market intelligence, and industry insights to inform strategy and influence outcomes.
- Excellent relationship management skills, effectively influencing and engaging candidates in advanced stages of the hiring process.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and business acumen, successfully navigating complex and sensitive discussions.
- Ability to operate independently in a dynamic, performance-driven environment while collaborating across teams.
