MPLC · Los Angeles, CA · 4 days ago

About the role

MPLC provides a legal way to show movies and TV in public or commercial spaces across the globe. Our business has been running for over 30 years, and we are the number one trusted partner to studios and producers for public performance licensing. We work with every major Hollywood studio and hundreds of independents, and we are a key player in the entertainment and intellectual property ecosystem. We are on a truly exciting journey as a company—growing quickly, investing in our teams, and have bold plans for the future.

This role is focused on two key objectives:

  • Build exceptional sales teams: Partner with hiring managers and senior sales leaders to identify, attract, assess, and hire top sales talent across the US and UK.
  • Create a world-class recruitment function: Develop talent pipelines, refine hiring processes, build assessment frameworks, strengthen our employer brand, and reduce reliance on recruitment agencies.

This is not a business-as-usual recruitment role. We're looking for someone driven and passionate about finding top-tier talent. You’ll operate as a strategic partner to the business, challenge hiring managers constructively, use data to influence decisions, and build scalable recruitment solutions. You'll work across multiple vacancies, regions, and stakeholder groups simultaneously, often managing competing priorities and ambitious hiring targets. Success requires resilience, strong commercial awareness, and the confidence to hold stakeholders accountable.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end recruitment for all sales roles across MPLC's US and UK businesses.
  • Work closely with hiring managers and senior sales leaders to develop a deep understanding of their teams, business objectives, and future talent requirements.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, helping leaders define success profiles, identify the skills and behaviors that drive performance, and build robust hiring processes that consistently identify exceptional candidates.
  • Continuously analyze the characteristics of our most successful salespeople, using data and insights to refine scorecards, interview frameworks, assessment centers, and selection methodologies.
  • Proactively source candidates through multiple channels, build and nurture talent communities, and maintain a strong pipeline of future sales talent.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to promote our employer brand and ensure MPLC is recognized as an employer of choice within target talent markets.
  • Take ownership of our Applicant Tracking System, ensuring recruitment data is accurate, reporting is meaningful, and candidate experience remains first-class throughout every stage of the hiring journey.
  • Support long-term workforce planning, graduate and early careers initiatives, onboarding excellence, and the continued development of our sales capability in partnership with Sales, Learning & Development, and HR colleagues.

Requirements

You will love this job if:

  • You are naturally curious about people and what makes individuals successful in sales roles.
  • You enjoy partnering with business leaders, challenging assumptions, and helping managers make better hiring decisions.
  • You are equally comfortable discussing talent strategy with senior stakeholders as you are proactively engaging passive candidates.
  • You thrive in environments where you can build things from scratch, improve processes, and make a measurable commercial impact.
  • You are highly organized, data-driven, and passionate about creating fair, structured, and effective hiring processes.
  • You believe that great recruitment is about much more than filling vacancies—it's about helping a business achieve its goals through exceptional people.

Benefits

  • Salary: $100,000 to $120,000, dependent on experience
  • Remote work options: Central or East Coast US
  • Comprehensive health insurance package (medical, dental, sick pay)
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • 15 days paid vacation
