Tailor, Levi’s® Retail Store, Birmingham, AL (The Summit)

Key Responsibilities

• Executes and is responsible for basic alteration services (i.e. hemming, patch and repair, tapering, etc.) and more technical alterations (e.g. fitting/tailoring items other than jeans, where more technical equipment is necessary; detailed appearance altering processes.)
• Exemplifies and possesses strong customer service skills to elevate our clients' experience.
• Educates and trains store teams on customer offerings and services provided by the Tailor Shop.
• Assist with responsibilities on the selling floor and fitting room as needed or as requested by store management.

Job Requirements

• Thorough understanding of denim industry and current/upcoming trends.
• Understanding of textiles and fabrics with proven skills in sewing, tailoring and textile repair.
• Awareness of design and details.
• Strong communication skills both internally and externally.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's or Associate's Degree preferred.
• Formal training in apparel design preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of sewing/tailoring experience and a strong knowledge of jeans construction.
• Thorough knowledge of machines used in the sewing of denim products.

Physical Requirements

• Stand, walk, sit, talk and hear.
• Use hands to type and utilize the tools of tailor shop.
• Reach with hands and arms, lift, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including evening and weekend shifts.
