Tack Welder

Key Responsibilities

• Aid ship fitters with tacking, grinding, and other tack-welding related tasks.
• Perform SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) and/or FCAW (Fluxcore) tack welding of T-joints in vertical and overhead positions, with the vertical position welded using downhill progression.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following all safety guidelines and protocols.
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 months of experience in tack welding.

Skills And Abilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in SMAW and/or FCAW tack welding by passing a hands-on T-join test in the vertical and overhead positions.
• Familiarity with basic welding and fitting processes is preferred.
• Experience with tack welding processes is a plus.
