About the Role
The Table Games Dealer operates under the direction of the Supervisor, Table Games, delivering a variety of casino table games in strict accordance with game rules and department policies. This role is key to providing highly professional customer service while interacting with Yaamava’ Resort & Casino patrons.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to Table Games policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Exchange currency for gaming chips.
- Ensure all wagers are within the minimum and maximum table limits.
- Ensure all bets are placed properly before cards are dealt.
- Shuffle and deal cards efficiently and correctly.
- Handle chips with accuracy and speed.
- Display all hands clearly and readably.
- Pay winning bets and collect losing bets.
- Ensure the security and integrity of the game.
- Verify currency and announce amounts of $20 or more before placing bills in the drop box.
- Call for service or rulings as needed.
- Provide guests with a pleasant gaming experience through professional, friendly, and courteous behavior.
- Explain and interpret game rules to patrons.
- Verify and deposit game-related paperwork in the drop box.
- Pass on game-related information to the incoming dealer.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support department operations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience dealing all major games including Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat, and Pai Gow Poker, or completion of the internal training program.
- Minimum one (1) year high-limit casino dealing experience preferred.
- Must successfully pass audition(s) to ensure proficiency in all table games.
- Ability to concentrate for long periods without distraction.
- Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written English.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and cooperative with co-workers and supervisors.
- Thorough knowledge of all table games used in casino gaming.
- At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
Skills
- Proficiency in dealing Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat, and Pai Gow Poker.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle chips and cards with speed and accuracy.
- Knowledge of game security and integrity protocols.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Primary work environment is a climate-controlled casino setting.
- May require travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.
- Must be able to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
- Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently; occasionally move up to 40 pounds.
- Sedentary work involving standing most of the time.
- Constant operation of a computer and other office productivity machinery (calculator, copy machine, printer).
- Physical activities include balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
- Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference, and over the telephone.
- Speech sufficient to be heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference, and over the telephone.
- Visual acuity required for preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, reading, and inspecting employees, visitors, or the facility.
- Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, and operate a motor vehicle for travel to events or properties.
- Endurance to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods throughout the work shift and during extended hours.
- May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including secondhand smoke.
