Responsibilities
- Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications and direct setup and adjustments of machines.
- Interpret company policies, specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assign duties.
- Enforce safety policies and procedures.
- Monitor workers' participation to ensure training is being applied and identify additional training needs.
- Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Suggest changes in working conditions and equipment use to increase efficiency.
- Analyze and resolve problems or assist workers in solving them.
- Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve goals.
- Maintain production records and distribute reports to appropriate personnel.
- Perform activities of workers within the department.
- Perform all duties in compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and procedures.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Perform other job duties and assignments as requested or as business needs require.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Assist or fill in for the Production Supervisor when needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent education required; no advanced degree required.
- Minimum of three years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in the plastics industry, including extrusion, thermoforming, or blow molding, is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with other departments and prioritize, organize, and manage multiple projects.
Skills
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents. Ability to effectively present information to all levels of employees, including top management. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.
- Mathematical and Computer Skills: Use of basic math skills, including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions. Ability to operate office equipment with basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations with limited standardization. Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.

- Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment

- Production area temperatures can fluctuate significantly based on the time of year.
- Noise levels can be moderate to high; use of hearing protection and safety eyewear is required in many areas.
- Additional safety equipment may be required.
- Must be able to periodically work all shift schedules, including overtime and weekend work.
