Systems Tester

OCH Technologies is seeking a Systems Tester to support the FAA’s NAS Defense Program, providing web application testing and documentation for FAA systems.

About the role

The System Tester will validate application and system performance against technical requirements and enhancements in a remote work environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver a Test Plan and Test Procedures for each test, activity, or enhancement update.
• Verify and validate functionality and performance against new requirements.
• Perform regression testing of enhanced applications to ensure baseline functionality remains intact.
• Execute system-level stress and load testing, including monitoring computer resource utilization (CPU, memory, network bandwidth) to identify performance bottlenecks.
• Prepare and deliver test reports capturing:
  • Functional and/or performance deficiencies
  • Planned vs. actual software tests completed
  • Number of open, closed, and corrected problems/issues
  • System latency observations
  • CPU and memory utilization
  • Network bandwidth loading effects
• Perform manual tests, regression tests, smoke tests, benchmark and performance testing, and stress testing.
• Support the development of system documentation, including System Design Documents, Software Architecture documentation, and diagrams.
• Provide configuration management and software version tracking.
• Write Test Reports, Test Plans, and Test Procedures.
• Assist with User Training and development of training materials.
• Support requirements gathering, testing, and configuration management, including software release management, automated pipeline support, and containerization.
• Responsibilities may evolve to support team and organizational goals while remaining within the role’s scope.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Math.
• Experience: Minimum of three (3)+ years of professional software testing experience.
• Strong, demonstrated experience with manual testing methodologies.
• Experience writing test reports, test plans, and test procedures that capture all results for each test activity.
• Experience testing web applications and database-driven systems.
• Familiarity with government software development and testing processes.
• Experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) is a plus.
• Familiarity with automated testing methodologies is a plus.
• Experience with Atlassian products including JIRA, Bitbucket, and Confluence.
• Security Clearance: Must have the ability to hold and maintain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience testing systems utilizing ArcGIS, AGOL.
• Familiarity with testing in microservices-based environments.
• Experience testing systems in a closed-network environment.
• Experience using TestRail or equivalent test management platforms.
• Familiarity with containerized test execution (Docker).
