About the Role
We are seeking a full-time Aviation Systems Test Engineer 2 at Garmin’s U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area or in our Chandler, AZ office. In this position, you will work hands-on with Garmin’s Integrated Flight Deck, testing industry-changing and life-saving innovations, such as our recently introduced Emergency Autoland, which will revolutionize general aviation. This role challenges you to find new and unique ways to test innovative avionics features as they are being developed. You will collaborate with Garmin’s customers and internal software teams to ensure requirements are implemented correctly.
Responsibilities
- Provides system testing support for developmental requirements of OEM programs
- Communicates status and schedule for system testing needs applicable to planned deliveries
- Provides feedback to development teams to ensure solutions are designed to meet system testing needs
- Provides troubleshooting support to identify system root cause
- Provides clear and sufficient detail about issues observed, with information adequate for internal or external customers
- Identifies and implements improvements to system testing processes and tools
- Identifies improvements and modifies tools for use in system testing
- Provides reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem-solving techniques
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math, Physics, or another related field AND a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
- Demonstrates knowledge of several complex integrated avionic functions
- Demonstrates mastery of relevant tools for use in system testing
- Demonstrates advanced troubleshooting skills
- Driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems
- Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, and work well with others
Qualifications
- Previous work or internship experience with Garmin-related products
- Pilot's License
- Previous work or internship experience with consumer or aviation products
