About the Role

Provides support and resolution of support requests. Supports installation of new server and data infrastructure, firmware, software releases, security updates, and application patches. Assists in resolving hardware and software-related problems in the infrastructure. Helps monitor and perform system backups and recovery, and ensures server and data infrastructure availability. Participates in projects such as system installation and upgrades as assigned. Works under direct supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in resolving hardware and software-related problems in the infrastructure
  • Monitor and perform system backups and recovery
  • Monitor server and data infrastructure availability
  • Participate in system installation and upgrade projects

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of directly related work experience in:
    • Direct administration experience with Microsoft 2008 and above server operating systems and Windows 7 and above workstation operating systems in a corporate domain environment
    • Active Directory group policy
    • Core Microsoft technologies/implementations, including Active Directory Domain Services, Domain Name Services, and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol
    • VMWare ESX
    • Linux or Unix operating systems
    • Microsoft Exchange and Office 365 Exchange environments
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong customer-service focus
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Project management skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a deadline-driven environment
  • Able to communicate and present complex multidisciplinary ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Competent team leadership and ability to transfer knowledge to others
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Ability to conduct research into complex issues, standards, and products
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and procedure manuals
  • Must pass BCI, FBI, and UCJIS background check

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in a field related to computer hardware, software, or information systems
  • Preferred IT-related professional certifications (not limited to):
    • CompTIA A+
    • CompTIA Network+
    • CompTIA Linux+
    • CompTIA Security+
    • Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)
    • MTA: IT Infrastructure
    • MCSA: Windows Server
    • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineers (MCSE)
    • Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS)
    • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
    • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
  • An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered

Pay

$27.84 per hour or more depending on experience
