• Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Systems Operations Engineering.
• Review and analyze complex multi-faceted, larger scale or longer-term Systems Operations Engineering challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors.
• Contribute to the resolution of complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that meet deliverables.
• Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline
• 10+ years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure within large-scale production environments
• Demonstrated experience leading technical resolution of complex production incidents
• Extensive experience supporting Linux and Windows server environments.
• Strong experience with enterprise virtualization platforms
• Strong understanding of enterprise monitoring, observability, and event management
• Demonstrated experience developing automation using PowerShell, Python, Ansible, or similar technologies
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to influence technical decisions across multiple engineering organizations
• Experience supporting enterprise environments consisting of tens of thousands of servers
• Experience implementing Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles within enterprise infrastructure environments
• Experience reducing operational toil through engineering and automation
• Experience using operational analytics to prioritize reliability improvements and automation initiatives
• Experience with ServiceNow and ITIL operational processes
• Experience with enterprise monitoring platforms such as Splunk, BigPanda, Grafana, or Prometheus
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, etc.)
• ITIL Foundation (or higher), Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Automation-related certifications
