About the Role
Perform cybersecurity assessments of large-scale DOD systems, utilizing an OCO (Offensive Cyber Operations) mindset to perform DCO (Defensive Cyber Operations) activities. Conduct long-term, in-depth vulnerability assessments leveraging systems engineering principles and knowledge, using available information such as architecture diagrams, build specifications, design documentation, and systems architecture.
Perform independent verification and validation of security requirements and capabilities. Incorporate systems resiliency and security engineering concepts into acquisition documents (e.g., Performance Work Statements). Conduct technical evaluations of contractor proposals for systems resiliency, security, and cybersecurity considerations.
As a technical leader, you will oversee Sr Systems Engineers, ensuring their full utilization, leveraging their best skillsets, and encouraging them to exceed technical performance expectations. Participate in building a strong team with depth in the system engineering process and its application across different mission areas.
Leverage interpersonal skills to foster relationship development with customers, gaining additional insights, information, and documentation to enhance mission accomplishment.
Responsibilities
- Perform cybersecurity assessments of large-scale DOD systems with an offensive cyber operations mindset.
- Conduct long-term, in-depth vulnerability assessments using systems engineering principles.
- Perform independent verification and validation of security requirements and capabilities.
- Incorporate systems resiliency and security engineering concepts into acquisition documents.
- Evaluate contractor proposals for systems resiliency, security, and cybersecurity considerations.
- Lead and mentor Sr Systems Engineers, ensuring optimal performance and skill utilization.
- Build and strengthen a team with expertise in system engineering processes.
- Develop customer relationships to gather insights, information, and documentation.
Requirements
- Minimum 15 years of System Engineering experience (BS Degree in STEM accounts for 4 years; MS in STEM accounts for an additional 2 years).
- Relevant BS degree in a STEM field.
- 6 years of experience as a System Engineer lead, managing and collaborating with diverse teams and organizations.
- Zero Trust experience.
- TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance is required.
Qualifications
- Cybersecurity certification (e.g., Sec+, CISSP, CEH).
- Familiarity with NIST SP 800-160.
- Familiarity with INCOSE-defined life cycle systems engineering processes.
- Experience with or knowledge of large-scale DOD systems.
