About the role

We are seeking a Systems Integrator to provide support to the US DOE Office of Legacy Management Support (LMS) IT Projects team. The Systems Integrator will leverage their knowledge and experience to participate and aid teams that develop key new IT capabilities or modernize and enhance existing capabilities, artifacts, and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the overall design, selection, installation, modification, and operation of an information systems capability.
  • Understands and applies existing, company-specific project management methods.
  • Actively participates in IT Project Management, IT Governance, and IT Operations department meetings to provide status updates, present planned configuration changes, assist in root cause analysis, and support issue resolution.
  • Comprehends organizational structure and established escalation processes.
  • Completes project tasks according to subscribed directions.
  • Provides local support to site operations and staff as needed, including infrastructure systems, networking devices and configuration, client endpoints, and end-users.
  • Works independently to complete assignments according to standard operating procedures; seeks manager’s input/approval for non-standard assignments.
  • Assists with the creation and/or review of project and/or technical documentation, including templates, charters, schedules, plans, and design documents.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field. Experience in lieu of education considered.
  • 5 or more years of applicable and proven experience in Information Technology/Services.

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate technical jargon into simple business language.
  • Advanced analytical skills and abilities to derive solutions for complex issues.
  • Experience with the M365 suite of products, spanning both administration and general use.
  • Experience with Windows Server Operating Systems, Active Directory, and Azure.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint), various web conferencing tools (Teams, WebEx), and web browsers (Edge, Chrome).
  • Exposure to or skills with any of the following: NIST SP 800-53, Networking, Server Operations, or one of the LM Cybersecurity technical systems (Splunk, CrowdStrike, Cisco FirePower, etc.).
  • Experience with Palo Alto Network and Cisco Firewalls.
  • Collaboration and cooperation in various team settings, including physical and virtual environments.

Physical Requirements

Physical Activities: Light work involving moving objects by exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly. Physical demand requirements exceed those for sedentary work. Includes a significant degree of walking or standing, sitting while pushing or pulling arm or leg controls, or working where the weight of materials is negligible.

This position does not require any supervisory responsibilities.

$67,250.15 - $85,147.36
