Systems & Integration Engineer

About the role

The Platform Systems Engineering department at General Dynamics Electric Boat (GDEB) seeks a Systems Engineer to support the development of advanced submarines for the United States Navy. This role focuses on understanding and optimizing complex systems, preventing failures, meeting Navy requirements, and integrating payloads and Special Operations Forces.

Responsibilities

• Leading and supporting multiple engineering disciplines in resolving technical integration challenges
• Developing and managing technical requirements
• Serving as a technical interface for cross-functional activities
• Testing ship systems
• Managing technical risk efforts

Requirements

• A Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Mechanical, Fluids, Structural, Systems Engineering, Marine or Ocean Engineering
• 5-15 years of post-graduate professional engineering experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance through the Department of Defense

Qualifications

• Preferred experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices and tools
• Prior experience in submarine design, serving onboard submarines, or in related environments
• Experience working in a systems engineering environment
