Systems Integration Engineer
About the Role
An exciting role exists for a Systems Integration Engineer specializing in OE Automotive development within the Software Electronics Team at FOX. The Software Electronics Team creates, develops, and implements new hardware, embedded software, and chassis control systems for a range of FOX markets including automobiles, off-road vehicles, ATVs, snowmobiles, motorcycles, and future transportation models. The team works collaboratively with all PVG (Powered Vehicle Group) business groups.
The candidate will be instrumental in the integration of chassis control systems, including designing and implementing sensors, data acquisition equipment, new electrical architectures, and wiring schematics. The role also leads system bring-up, troubleshooting, and validation of control systems that include hardware and embedded software.
To be part of this team, the candidate must be a creative, forward-thinking individual dedicated to advancing control systems capabilities at FOX—a major growth opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Integrate chassis control systems, including designing and implementing sensors, data acquisition equipment, electrical architectures, and wiring schematics.
- Lead system bring-up, troubleshooting, and validation of control systems involving hardware and embedded software.
- Solve vehicle-related issues involving electronic control units (ECUs), sensors, and communication networks.
- Validate system inputs and outputs.
- Understand control logic at a high level and verify ECU inputs and outputs.
- Establish system requirements from cross-functional teams, including product planning, hardware, control systems, and software.
- Create detailed bring-up procedures, wiring diagrams, and installation guides.
- Document overall system architecture and create system block diagrams.
- Develop new or improved processes for installation and testing of integrated and distributed systems.
- Use electrical test bench equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.
- Make adjustments to wiring harnesses and perform basic wire-working tasks.
