Job Description
- Install CCTV camera systems (indoor and outdoor)
- Install electronic access control systems including card readers, door hardware and control panels
- Mount and install televisions, digital displays, projectors and AV equipment in classrooms, offices and common areas
- Install exterior wireless access points
- Run, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling (Cat5/6, fiber, coaxial as needed)
- Assist with installation of HVAC control wiring
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and installation diagrams
- Operate lifts and bucket trucks to perform elevated work safely
- Ensure all installations meet institutional guidelines and specifications
- Maintain tools, equipment and inventory needed for installations
- Maintain required supply and equipment inventories
- Make emergency repairs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work at heights and operate a bucket truck or aerial lift
- Strong mechanical and technical skills
- Ability to lift, carry and install equipment
- Basic understanding of hand tools, power tools and installation practices
Qualifications Preferred
- Experience with low-voltage system installation
- Experience installing CCTV, access control or AV systems
- Knowledge of network infrastructure related to security and AV systems
- Familiarity with cable termination and testing tools
