About the role
This is a hybrid position and expected to work on-site minimally three days at our Towson MD Campus.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and deployment of systems engineering frameworks, methods, and tools across complex, multi-domain product development programs.
- Strengthen systems engineering capabilities across mechanical, electrical/electronic, and software domains, enabling improved product architecture, requirements traceability, and verification and validation processes.
- Define, develop, and deploy requirements engineering practices, including requirements definition, decomposition, parametrization, traceability, and lifecycle management.
- Establish robust traceability between requirements, system architecture, and verification/validation activities.
- Develop and guide system architectures for complex, multi-domain products (mechanical, electrical/electronics, controls/software).
- Support platform-based product development across power tools, hand tools, and outdoor equipment.
- Lead the development of product use cases and operational scenarios to capture user needs and translate them into system-level requirements.
- Define and standardize test strategies, including test plans and test case templates. Ensure alignment between requirements, architecture, and validation activities.
- Apply MBSE principles and methodologies to develop system models and engineering artifacts using selected toolsets.
- Support the integration of MBSE practices into product development workflows.
- Develop systems engineering training materials and conduct training sessions across engineering and product teams.
- Mentor and coach engineers, product managers, and cross-functional teams on systems engineering methods and best practices.
- Partner with product management, engineering, program management, and manufacturing teams to embed systems engineering into program execution.
- Facilitate alignment across disciplines to improve decision-making and reduce late-stage issues.
- Define and implement systems engineering metrics to track adoption, effectiveness, and impact. Communicate insights and progress to leadership and key stakeholders.
