The Systems Engineering, Associate Manager will lead the development and verification of subsystems level requirements and the integration and test of avionics subsystems. This position requires a strong background in systems engineering, with expertise in requirements development, verification, validation, integration, and test.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and verification of subsystems level requirements, ensuring they are complete, consistent, and compliant with program requirements and standards.
- Develop and maintain subsystems level requirements documentation, including requirements specifications, interface control documents, and test plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineering, design engineering, and test engineering, to ensure proper integration and testing of subsystems level requirements.
- Plan and execute integration and test activities, including the development of test plans, test procedures, and test reports.
- Lead the identification and mitigation of technical risks associated with subsystems level requirements and integration and test activities.
- Collaborate with program management to develop and maintain program schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Provide technical guidance and oversight to a team of systems engineers, including mentoring and coaching to develop their skills and expertise.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, such as design engineering, test engineering, and manufacturing engineering, to ensure proper integration and testing of subsystems level requirements.
- Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk analyses, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
- Coordinate subordinate employee recruitment, selection, training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
- Perform analyses at all levels of total system product lifecycle, including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
- Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Requirements
- Strong background in systems engineering principles, including functional analysis and system design.
- Experience leading multi-disciplined technical teams.
- Active or current DoD Secret Clearance required prior to start; ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership and technical skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team of systems engineers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate technical risks.
- Experience with subsystems level requirements development, verification, validation, integration, and test.
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (desired).
- 8+ years of systems engineering experience, with a focus on requirements development, verification, validation, integration, and test.
- Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies, such as SysML and UML.
- Proficiency with requirements management tools, such as DOORS.
- Strong knowledge of program management principles, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Pay
Full-Time Salary Range: $118,000.00 - $219,100.00. The salary offered considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, and market considerations.
