Systems Engineer (Travel Required)

Summary EES provides mission-critical engineering support at the FAA's William J. Hughes Technical Center, the agency's premier research and testing facility, helping advance the nationwide safety and efficiency of air traffic control services. EES sustains and modernizes infrastructure supporting the National Airspace System across multiple technical domains. We have an immediate opening for highly qualified candidates with systems engineering expertise to support the technical refresh of a real-time air traffic management system. This 18-month position, with the possibility of extension, requires frequent travel on an approximately one-week-on, one-week-off schedule from the FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center location. Position Description Develop deployment support documentation for customersWork with the management to develop deployment specifications and configurationsAnalyze and troubleshoot deployment issues in a timely mannerAct as customer contact for deployment related inquiries and issuesInstall and test hardware at FAA customer sitesCreate technical artifacts needed for deployments at FAA customer sitesTroubleshoot malfunction occurrences during hardware installations Basic Qualifications U.S. Citizen and permanent residencyBachelor's degree (in computer science, engineering, or mathematics) + 2-10 yrs. related experience Must be able to lift at least 30lbsExperience using power toolsExperience troubleshooting installation/boot-up issuesKnowledge and experience with mid to large scale hardware refreshes/deployments in a government environmentMust have analytical and problem-solving skillsMust have time management, priority allocation and task management skillsAbility to interact with customers and team membersMust be able to work in a time-sensitive environment installing hardware on mission-critical systemsMust be able to work independently or as part of a teamMust be able to travel- travel will be frequentExcellent customer service, Interpersonal skills and communication skills are required Job Posted by ApplicantPro
