Basic Qualifications

• Experience using System Safety Standards
• Experience with the development, documentation, and verification of system requirements
• Expertise in the application of System Safety design and operations safety principles
• Experience with hazard identification, analysis, risk mitigation and/or associated deliverable documentation
• Ability to obtain Top Secret security clearance, therefore U.S. Citizenship is required

Responsibilities

• Analyze hardware and software, establish and maintain system safety requirements in support of mission results
• Support the Systems Engineering team throughout the lifecycle of the system
• Support detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies, and support the translation of customer requirements into hardware and software requirements
• Support Systems Engineering during System Integration and support verification/validation of system requirements
• Develop and/or update Preliminary Hazard List (PHL), Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), Functional Hazard Analyses (FHAs), System Hazard Analyses (SHA), and Safety Assessment Reports (SAR)
• Prepare presentations and participate in Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings, and various working groups and safety review meetings
• Develop and/or update System Safety documents to support Customer, Range Safety, and contractual requirements
• Review and provide input to test procedures for adherence to System Safety requirements
• Cook and coordinate with test range safety teams and writing range safety reports to support testing
• Development and maintenance of a Hazard Tracking System (HTS) used to document real and potential hazards, their assessments, and their respective mitigation's

Desired Skills

• Secret security clearance (or above)
• Experience using MIL-STD-882E and AFSPCMAN 91-710, or other relevant industry and/or range safety standards
• Experience defining safety requirements, influencing design to integrate safety requirements, and verifying safety requirements
• Software system safety experience
• Experience participating in System Safety Working Groups
• Familiarity with MBSE
• Familiarity with DOORs
• Effective communication skills with the ability to engage and interact in group meeting/working environments with team members, development organizations and customers
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
