Basic Qualifications
- Experience using System Safety Standards
- Experience with the development, documentation, and verification of system requirements
- Expertise in the application of System Safety design and operations safety principles
- Experience with hazard identification, analysis, risk mitigation and/or associated deliverable documentation
- Ability to obtain Top Secret security clearance, therefore U.S. Citizenship is required

Responsibilities
- Analyze hardware and software, establish and maintain system safety requirements in support of mission results
- Support the Systems Engineering team throughout the lifecycle of the system
- Support detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies, and support the translation of customer requirements into hardware and software requirements
- Support Systems Engineering during System Integration and support verification/validation of system requirements
- Develop and/or update Preliminary Hazard List (PHL), Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), Functional Hazard Analyses (FHAs), System Hazard Analyses (SHA), and Safety Assessment Reports (SAR)
- Prepare presentations and participate in Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings, and various working groups and safety review meetings
- Develop and/or update System Safety documents to support Customer, Range Safety, and contractual requirements
- Review and provide input to test procedures for adherence to System Safety requirements
- Cook and coordinate with test range safety teams and writing range safety reports to support testing
- Development and maintenance of a Hazard Tracking System (HTS) used to document real and potential hazards, their assessments, and their respective mitigation's
Desired Skills
- Secret security clearance (or above)
- Experience using MIL-STD-882E and AFSPCMAN 91-710, or other relevant industry and/or range safety standards
- Experience defining safety requirements, influencing design to integrate safety requirements, and verifying safety requirements
- Software system safety experience
- Experience participating in System Safety Working Groups
- Familiarity with MBSE
- Familiarity with DOORs
- Effective communication skills with the ability to engage and interact in group meeting/working environments with team members, development organizations and customers
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
