Systems Engineer, Sr - Weapon Products
About the Role
Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is seeking a Full-Time Senior System Engineer to work on Combat System development and test execution as an individual contributor in the Weapon Products. The successful candidate will have knowledge or experience in System Engineering of Weapons Control Systems supporting Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) and Anti-Air Warfare (AAW) programs to meet cost and schedule.
This position is located at a facility that requires special access and will require a government security clearance at the Secret level. U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities
- Develop and test Combat Systems as an individual contributor in Weapon Products.
- Apply system engineering principles to Weapons Control Systems supporting BMD and AAW programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience.
- Proficient in Linux, C++, Java, and/or Python; experienced with Git version control.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills demonstrated through the application of mathematics and physics.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance at the Secret level; U.S. citizenship required.
Desired Skills
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- Experience with weapons-control system products that support Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD), Anti-Air Warfare (AAW), and emerging weapons, including development of fire-control solutions, track-filtering algorithms, and weapon-guidance techniques.
- Proven ability to document and brief technical design solutions in written papers and oral presentations for stakeholders.
- Experience leading other engineers—whether peers or junior staff—on technical tasks and projects.

Pay
The base range for this position in New Jersey is $91,000 - $181,113.
Schedule
- 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
- Onsite full-time at a designated Lockheed Martin facility in Mount Laurel, NJ.
