Systems Engineer - Safety Analysis
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Systems Engineer - Safety Analysis will be part of a team of engineers and technicians providing engineering and technical support specific to performing safety analysis for Torpedoes, Batteries, Software, Combat Systems, Ranges, and Unmanned Undersea Vehicles (UUV) for the Systems Safety and Reliability Engineering Branch, Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Newport RI. This is an ideal position for an experienced Systems/Electrical/Software/Mechanical Engineer interested in safety and weapons, or an individual with a Quality Assurance (QA) or CMMI background as there are commonalities in methods applied to complete the tasking.
Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Software discipline is required. Software Safety Analysis preferred. WSESRB Interactive Safety Environment (WISE) training preferred. MIL-STD-882 training preferred.
- Experience: 3+ years of related experience; specific experience in any of the following areas is a plus: Heavyweight and/or lightweight torpedoes, especially with actual torpedo safety. Combat Systems. Range System safety. Unmanned Undersea Vehicles (UUV). Battery safety.
