Systems Engineer Network - On Site in Oregon
Full-time position (1.0 FTE) primarily Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM. This is an on-site role; relocation to Southern Oregon is required.
About the Role
The Systems Engineer Network is responsible for the analysis, design, implementation, and support of Asante’s enterprise network infrastructure. This role covers the full lifecycle of network systems and services, including analysis, design, selection, implementation, project management, and ongoing support. Responsibilities include ensuring optimal network performance, assisting senior engineers in developing business continuity, disaster recovery, and high availability strategies, managing fiber, copper, and wireless infrastructure, conducting impact analysis, and developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation. This position serves as Tier 2 and 3 escalation support for network routing, switching, backup, and security systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support network systems and related applications in a 24/7 mission-critical enterprise environment.
- Ensure optimal network performance and assist in developing business continuity, disaster recovery, and high availability strategies.
- Manage fiber, copper, and wireless infrastructure.
- Conduct impact analysis and develop comprehensive documentation.
- Provide Tier 2 and 3 escalation support for network routing, switching, backup, and security systems.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and supporting network systems in an enterprise environment.
- In-depth knowledge of Cisco systems, including routing, advanced switching, and controller-based Cisco wireless.
- Experience with enterprise wired and wireless network design, network communications systems, and related backup systems.
- Familiarity with network operating systems such as Cisco IOS and Palo Alto OS.
- Knowledge of fiber and copper low-voltage cable plant infrastructures.
- Experience with network security, including deployment of security policies for VPNs, firewalls, switches, and routers.
- Proficiency with network management applications, systems monitoring, and analysis.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP and network protocols including SIP, BGP, EIGRP, SNMP, and OSPF.
- Ability to perform protocol analysis and troubleshooting using industry-standard tools.
- Experience with network switching and routing.
- Ability to assist in the design and management of complex network systems.
- Knowledge of current security authentication, including Active Directory.
- Experience with power management for network equipment, including central UPS systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience is required.
- Microsoft Office Certified Professional (preferred).
- PCNSE (Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer) or equivalent firewall certification (preferred).
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent (preferred).
- CompTIA certification related to specialty (preferred).
Pay
Salary range: $98,196.80 – $135,037.76.
