Systems Engineer - Mid Level
About the Role
As a Systems Engineer - Mid Level at Boeing Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A), you will contribute to critical national security missions by developing and integrating advanced intelligence, analytics, and cyber solutions.
Responsibilities
- Innovate RF signal processing applications
- Facilitate integration of new and legacy software across diverse hardware form factors
- Analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications
- Derive stakeholder needs and essential system functions from system requirements
- Develop system design solutions that satisfy system requirements
- Participate in producing definitions of systems or components under development to provide common reference points for hardware and software developers
- Derive lower-level requirements from higher-level allocated requirements that describe in detail the functions a system component must fulfill
- Ensure lower-level requirements are complete, correct, unique, unambiguous, realizable, and verifiable
- Participate in an Integrated Product Team to design new capabilities based on evaluation of development and operational considerations
- Generate alternative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions; suggest hardware upgrades to improve system performance
- Allocate real-time process budgets and error budgets to systems and subsystem components
- Participate in interface definition, design, and configuration changes between affected groups throughout the lifecycle
- Produce written plans defining methods, processes, and evaluation criteria for verifying systems, subsystems, and work products against requirements
- Participate in developing system engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirement Specifications, and Interface Control Documents
- Develop derived requirements for Information Assurance Services (Confidentiality, Integrity, Non-repudiation, Availability), Basic Information Assurance Mechanisms (e.g., Identification, Authentication, Access Control, Accountability), and Security Mechanism Technology (passwords, cryptography, discretionary/mandatory access control, hashing, key management)
- Review and provide input to program and contract Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), work packages, and the Integrated Master Plan (IMP)

Requirements
- Seven (7) years of experience as a systems engineer in medium-scale (20-100 people) or larger programs or contracts
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university (five additional years of systems engineering experience may substitute for the degree)
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance
- Demonstrated experience with RF signal processing applications
- Experience with Jira/Confluence or similar project management tools
Desired Qualifications
- INCOSE ASEP or similar systems engineering certification
- Proficiency with Cameo/MagicDraw, Rhapsody, or similar SysML tools

This position is contingent upon program award.
Pay
Pay range: $103,000 - $195,000. Compensation is based on candidate experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations.
