About the role

The Systems Engineer, Mid position offers an opportunity to contribute to Navy-directed energy system development. You will work on complex technical problems, providing innovative solutions, and guiding system development.

Responsibilities

  • Translate real-world needs into technical specifications
  • Develop advanced technology ideas
  • Participate in program integrated product teams (IPTs)
  • Apply knowledge of the systems engineering discipline across SDLC phases
  • Generate SE requirements for artifacts like SRDs, SSRDs, and ICDs
  • Conduct risk management
  • Manage configuration, program protection, cybersecurity, and system safety processes
  • Collaborate on rapid acquisitions and fielding systems aboard Navy ships
  • Gain experience in directed energy technology and integration

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with performing SE for weapons systems
  • 2+ years of experience in using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and MBSE tools
  • Experience with concept development, design, and development of system architecture, hardware, and software design
  • Knowledge of risk management, configuration management, program protection, cybersecurity, and SE certification processes
  • Secret clearance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of experience in SE with U.S. Navy Surface Ships or armed services’ directed energy systems
  • Experience with Cameo for MBSE
  • Experience using the Atlassian Tool Suite, including Jira for requirements, Zephyr for test case development, and Confluence for data reporting
  • Experience with Navy Surface Ship weapons integration requirements
  • Experience conducting configuration management, program protection, or cybersecurity, system safety, and certification
  • Knowledge of MOSA techniques
  • Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Certification

Pay

$61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD)

Schedule

Full-time and part-time employees working at least 20 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in Booz Allen's benefit programs. Individuals that do not meet the threshold are only eligible for select offerings, not inclusive of health benefits.

Remote: If this position is listed as remote, there may still be occasions when you are required to work in person at a Booz Allen or customer facility.

Hybrid: If this position is listed as hybrid, you will be expected to work from a Booz Allen facility frequently, in alignment with leadership expectations and the needs of the role.

Onsite: If this position is listed as onsite, work will primarily be performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, where employees will collaborate directly with colleagues and customers as required by the role.
