About the role
The Systems Engineer, Mid position offers an opportunity to contribute to Navy-directed energy system development. You will work on complex technical problems, providing innovative solutions, and guiding system development.
Responsibilities
- Translate real-world needs into technical specifications
- Develop advanced technology ideas
- Participate in program integrated product teams (IPTs)
- Apply knowledge of the systems engineering discipline across SDLC phases
- Generate SE requirements for artifacts like SRDs, SSRDs, and ICDs
- Conduct risk management
- Manage configuration, program protection, cybersecurity, and system safety processes
- Collaborate on rapid acquisitions and fielding systems aboard Navy ships
- Gain experience in directed energy technology and integration
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with performing SE for weapons systems
- 2+ years of experience in using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and MBSE tools
- Experience with concept development, design, and development of system architecture, hardware, and software design
- Knowledge of risk management, configuration management, program protection, cybersecurity, and SE certification processes
- Secret clearance
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of experience in SE with U.S. Navy Surface Ships or armed services’ directed energy systems
- Experience with Cameo for MBSE
- Experience using the Atlassian Tool Suite, including Jira for requirements, Zephyr for test case development, and Confluence for data reporting
- Experience with Navy Surface Ship weapons integration requirements
- Experience conducting configuration management, program protection, or cybersecurity, system safety, and certification
- Knowledge of MOSA techniques
- Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Certification

Pay
$61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD)
Schedule
Full-time and part-time employees working at least 20 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in Booz Allen's benefit programs. Individuals that do not meet the threshold are only eligible for select offerings, not inclusive of health benefits.
Remote: If this position is listed as remote, there may still be occasions when you are required to work in person at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
Hybrid: If this position is listed as hybrid, you will be expected to work from a Booz Allen facility frequently, in alignment with leadership expectations and the needs of the role.
Onsite: If this position is listed as onsite, work will primarily be performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, where employees will collaborate directly with colleagues and customers as required by the role.
