Systems Engineer, Mid

Join a mission-focused team supporting the modernization, automation, and secure delivery of enterprise IT capabilities. As a Systems Administrator, you will help maintain and evolve our Windows-based infrastructure while developing hands-on experience with PowerShell automation, system hardening, and security operations in a structured, DoD-aligned environment. You will work alongside senior engineers and IT leadership to administer core Windows services, build automation solutions, and support the reliability and security of enterprise systems. This role provides a real growth path — with the opportunity to deepen your skills in cloud services, DevOps tooling, and infrastructure automation as you mature in the position.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and evolve Windows-based infrastructure
• Administer core Windows services (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy)
• Develop PowerShell scripts for automation, system management, and reporting
• Support patch management, software deployment, and system hardening activities
• Implement endpoint security practices, vulnerability remediation, and compliance activities
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with attention to detail
• Document configurations, procedures, and runbooks

Requirements

• Experience administering Windows Server environments (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy)
• Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and system management
• Experience supporting patch management, software deployment, and system hardening
• Experience with endpoint security, vulnerability remediation, and compliance
• Knowledge of core networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, VLANs)
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently
• Strong documentation skills for configurations, procedures, and runbooks
• HS diploma or GED
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE)
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Omnissa Horizon VDI environments (configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting)
• Experience with Microsoft Azure (Azure AD/Entra ID, Azure Virtual Machines, resource administration)
• Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, or infrastructure-as-code
• Experience with SIEM tools, endpoint protection platforms, or vulnerability scanning solutions
• Experience with Agile team workflows and ceremonies
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Pay

Salary is determined by location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, and contract-specific requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD).

Schedule

This role may be remote, hybrid, or onsite. If remote, occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility may be required. If hybrid, frequent work from a Booz Allen facility is expected, with potential customer site visits. If onsite, work will primarily be performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility.
