We have an exciting opportunity in Poway, California for a Systems Engineer with a Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) or DoDAF Architecture Framework background.
Responsibilities
- Work with customers, operators, and end user surrogates to develop Concept of Operations (CONOPS) that lead to detailed system design and requirements.
- Lead system architecture development through model-based systems engineering (MBSE), building a shared, configuration-managed architecture model at multiple levels used by multiple functional groups and stakeholders on internal and customer-funded programs.
- Serve as the focal point on programs for system knowledge and design decisions, demonstrating a solid understanding of the system, subsystems, components, and all internal/external interfaces.
- Design and ensure compliance of interfaces between software and hardware using architecture models as the truth source, managing changes within the models when updates are required.
- Develop data flows, activity diagrams, or sequence diagrams to help define hardware and software systems.
- Work on a wide range of products from Command/Control to Payloads to Exploitation systems, collaborating with highly talented professionals from diverse technical disciplines.
Requirements
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution, with progressive engineering experience:
- Nine or more years of experience with a bachelor’s degree,
- Seven or more years of experience with a master’s degree, or
- Four or more years with a PhD.
- Experience developing CONOPS, working closely with operators/users or user surrogates to identify system solutions.
- Experience with modeling tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, or Enterprise Architect.
- Experience developing comprehensive system architectures with modeling tools, enforcing compliance to and configuration management of architecture models.
- Experience developing/deriving Use Cases and requirements from Use Cases and System Architecture.
- Capability to clearly communicate design and requirements to software/hardware teams for implementation.
- Subject matter experience in a relevant technology.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
Skills
- Desired experience developing models with SysML.
Pay
Salary range: $105,890 - $189,545
