About the role
BAE Systems is seeking Systems Engineering Leads to join a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team focused on designing, integrating, debugging, and testing next-generation Electronic Warfare (EW) systems.
Responsibilities
- Leading a medium or large team of Systems Engineers on EW related programs
- Managing all system engineering content and work products
- Understanding and implementing the product development process
- Schedule and cost account responsibilities for systems team
- Execution of systems planning and requirements development
- Creation and review of systems requirements to include, software, component, subsystem, and operational concepts
- Allocation of requirements to engineering disciplines
- Creation and review of system test plans, procedures and reports
- Leading product design, development, integration, and verification
- Outside contact with customers, other contractors and government officials
- Manage and participate in trade studies, peer reviews, and customer meetings
- Preparing and delivering technical presentations internally and with customers
- Monitor and report metrics such as System Technical Performance Measures
- Supports proposal development activities, including proposal text development, cost and schedule estimating, and presentation activities
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Mathematics or Computer Science (or equivalent experience in a relevant field)
- Minimum 8+ Years with BS, 6+ Years with MS, 4+ Years with PhD
- Active US Government security clearance (with ability to possess TS)
- Experience with EW and/or Radar and Missile Systems
- Experience with technical performance measurements and cost account management
- Leadership skills and experience directing and mentoring engineers on complex programs
- Expertise in effectively documenting, communicating, leading and working with a team on designs, results, reports, and presentations
- Experience performing systems engineering activities across the development cycle (analysis/decomposition/derivation/allocation of requirements, system modeling & simulation, system design & development, system integration & test)
- Experience developing viable concept solutions, identifying and tracking technical risks, and leading technical teams
- EVMS certification and previous CAM experience required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science and 11 years of experience or Ph.D. with 9 years of experience
- Project/Program team member responsible for workflow, which is dynamic in nature
- Model based systems engineering experience with tools such as MagicDraw
- Familiarity or experience with Agile Systems Engineering
- Active United States security clearance, Top Secret, SCI Eligible
