Systems Engineer Lead
Responsibilities
We are seeking a TS/SCI cleared, highly experienced and detail-oriented Systems Engineer Lead to join our team in CO Springs, CO and oversee the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of complex systems and IT infrastructures. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for guiding a team of engineers, ensuring the highest levels of performance, availability, and security. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement cutting-edge solutions that support our US Space Force customer's technology vision and strategic goals.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree with 10-12 years; Master's with 8-10 years or PhD with 5-7 years in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in systems engineering, network administration, or related fields. 3+ years of leadership or team management experience.
- Certifications: Must possess and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance. Certification in Systems Engineering (e.g., INCOSE Certification, CompTIA Server+). Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator). Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices, including knowledge of tools like IAM, firewalls, and security monitoring.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in systems engineering concepts, including architecture design, system integration, and configuration management. Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V). Familiarity with networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, HTTP/S, FTP) and related hardware (firewalls, load balancers, routers, etc.). Proficient in automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash, or Ansible). Expertise in operating systems such as Linux, Windows, or Unix. Solid understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze complex technical challenges and deliver practical and innovative solutions. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues across various systems.
- Leadership & Communication: Proven ability to manage and lead a team of engineers with diverse skill levels. Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaboration Skills: Ability to work cross-functionally with engineers, project managers, and non-technical stakeholders. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
