Job Duties
- Perform in a supervisor role for engineers involved in the development, testing, integration, and sustainment of specialized and diverse software, electronic, and/or mechanical equipment, and systems
- Determine test objectives, instrumentation, and data requirements
- Write test planning documents, schedule program activities, track funding and expenditures, plan and conduct test missions, analyze resultant data, document results in test reports, statistical evaluations and briefing presentations
- Direct interface with internal and external customers at all levels from quotation to final design
- Act as liaison for test activities, design reviews, and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications
- Generate complete design specifications for more complex projects
- Cookordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements
- Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures
- Prepare, deliver, and submit technical papers and perform engineering studies
- Support development of technical proposals and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work
- Act as a company/industry expert resource on the most complex engineering problems
- Maintain technical project responsibility for assigned tasks and advise management of progress in support of the technical and administrative direction of project operations
- Conduct site visits and experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations
- Develop, interpret, and implement technical and administrative operating policies and procedures
Requirements
- Education: A Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution and eight (8) years of related engineering experience, or an accredited Master of Science in Engineering and a minimum of six (6) years of related engineering experience, or an accredited doctorate degree in engineering and a minimum four (4) years of related engineering experience
- Technical and Work Experience: Comprehensive knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices of engineering to provide consultative services on development programs and in the design and development of systems and components; Working knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering tools; Well-developed leadership skills; Excellent communication and analytical skills; Planning/organizational skills and the ability to work under deadlines
Pay
The expected salary range for this position is $103,000 to $163,000 annually.
