Systems Engineer – Infrastructure Hardware

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise server hardware and infrastructure components.
• Support rack-mounted servers, blade servers, and high-performance computing systems.
• Manage server hardware from vendors such as Dell, HPE, Lenovo, and Cisco UCS.
• Perform hardware diagnostics, firmware upgrades, BIOS configuration, and component replacements.
• Support enterprise storage solutions, including SAN, NAS, RAID, and Fibre Channel technologies.
• Work with virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere and Hyper-V.
• Monitor infrastructure health, availability, capacity, and performance.
• Troubleshoot hardware failures involving CPUs, memory, storage controllers, power supplies, and network interface cards.
• Coordinate with data center teams for rack installation, cabling, power distribution, and hardware deployments.
• Maintain hardware inventory, asset documentation, configuration records, and lifecycle management plans.
• Collaborate with network, systems, cloud, and security teams to ensure reliable infrastructure operations.
• Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, disaster recovery, and business continuity activities.
• Follow data center safety standards, change management procedures, and infrastructure security policies.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of enterprise server architecture and hardware components.
• Hands-on experience with Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant, Lenovo ThinkSystem, or Cisco UCS.
• Experience with RAID configurations, SAN/NAS storage, and Fibre Channel connectivity.
• Knowledge of server operating systems, including Windows Server and Linux.
• Familiarity with VMware virtualization and infrastructure provisioning.
• Understanding of TCP/IP networking, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and server connectivity.
• Experience with BIOS, UEFI, firmware, and hardware diagnostics.
• Knowledge of data center operations, rack management, cabling, and power/cooling requirements.
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring, IT service management, and ticketing tools.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
