Systems Engineer III

Responsibilities

• Support the design and creation of technical solutions from functional specifications for complex development projects.
• Analyze the impact of vendor provided updates and upgrades to the system.
• Program solutions of the WebMRE family of Health IT systems in support of the Defense Health Agency (DHA) at NIWC Atlantic and other DoD Clients.
• Work with customers to understand their business processes and requirements.
• Translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Resolve issues that arise during development.
• Communicate project and development status to key stakeholders throughout entire development process.
• Use best practices to test and deploy changes from development to test, staging and production environments.
• Conduct product development activities in support of application enhancements and system problems.
• Perform technical design walkthroughs.
• Conduct peer reviews on other developer code.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with Scrum.
• 10+ years of Development/Architect in relevant field.
• Experience with Project Management Software (MS Project, JIRA).
• Ability to work under pressure and to adapt quickly in a rapid, changing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science or Engineering in a related field or advanced degree.
• A minimum of 8-10 years of professional experience preferably using health IT tools and products.

Desired Skills

• Experience with Java, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and version control.
