Systems Engineer II - Hybrid Infrastructure

About the role

McLane is seeking an Engineer with cloud experience to join our team. As a hybrid position, you will report to the office at least three days a week, within a 50-minute radius from Temple, TX.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support hybrid cloud infrastructure across on-prem and public cloud environments
• Manage and optimize virtualization and HCI platforms
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code to improve consistency and speed
• Support enterprise storage platforms for performance, availability, and scalability
• Partner with engineering, security, and operations teams to ensure reliable cloud operations
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and drive root cause resolution

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with Virtualization (VMware, AHV), HCI platforms (Nutanix, VxRail), Storage solutions (NetApp, EMC PMAX), and IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible)
• Experience supporting enterprise scale environments
• Strong understanding of infrastructure reliability, security, and automation
• Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team environment
• Continuous learner with a problem-solving mindset

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3–5 years of experience in cloud or infrastructure engineering roles
