Systems Engineer II, Hardware Test Engineer

About the Role

Raytheon, part of RTX (the world’s largest aerospace and defense company), is seeking a Systems Engineer II to join the Systems Integration & Test Long Range Radars Department. This role supports X-Band Radar technology, focusing on radar data analysis and systems integration activities at our Woburn, MA location. Daily activities include working in the String Lab with field returns, debugging hardware failures, testing Radar Software, troubleshooting site issues, updating technical data packages, and contributing to Product Modernization upgrades.

Responsibilities

• Support integration and test planning/execution, verification/validation events, regression testing, and scenario-based analysis to identify and resolve technical observations.
• Support system performance assessments and validation testing to ensure compliance with requirements and specifications.
• Execute integration plans and testing activities according to defined tasking milestones and schedules.
• Integrate and test radar system hardware upgrades and software builds in a String/HWIL facility for integration, verification, test, and data analysis activities.
• Troubleshoot failed hardware components sent from radar sites.
• Collaborate with cross-program leads/stakeholders to generate test approaches, ensure test-setup readiness, and participate in key processes (peer, gate, and test readiness reviews).
• Confirm test and evaluation processes comply with established procedures for software and hardware and adhere to Department of Defense technology release and export licensing policies.
• Willingness to travel up to 5%.

Qualifications

You Must Have

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
• Minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, Perl, C/C++, Linux, Unix, and/or other programming.
• Hardware experience troubleshooting electronic systems.

We Prefer

• Experience using String/HWIL test equipment, RF electronic hardware configuration and installation, software installations, and integrating or regression testing radar systems.
• Certifications in CompTIA Network+ and/or CompTIA Security+.
• Experience with systems engineering, radar data analysis, integration, verification, validation, and/or system testing.
• Proficiency with MATLAB, Linux Operating Systems (Linux Red Hat), Unix, and Shell scripting for integration, verification, test, and data analysis.
• Experience integrating and configuring electronics, installing/debugging software.
• Knowledge of creating integration test procedures, test plans, test scripts, and developing/maintaining configuration control documentation.
• Individual integration skills, knowledge of radar and signal processing concepts, modeling and determining radar performance, and strong team interaction skills.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $68,900 – $131,100 USD. The range is representative of all experience levels and considers factors such as role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
