About the role
You will be a hands-on technical leader responsible for architecting, engineering, and operating enterprise-scale infrastructure across on-prem datacenters, virtual platforms, and cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure).
Responsibilities
- Modernize compute, storage, and network services to improve reliability, performance, scalability, and security.
- Create high-quality architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and system design documentation.
- Lead end-to-end server provisioning and deprovisioning for Windows and Linux platforms. Integrate server provisioning and lifecycle tasks with ServiceNow automation and catalog workflows.
- Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers, ensuring consistent standards and optimized performance.
- Build automation for server builds, configuration, patching, drift detection, and lifecycle workflows using PowerShell, Python, Terraform, or Ansible.
- Manage compute workloads across on-prem, virtual, and cloud environments, ensuring high performance and availability.
- Conduct capacity planning, performance tuning, and lifecycle governance across compute platforms. Support hybrid workload strategies aligned with business and application requirements.
- Manage hybrid storage environments (NetApp, SAN, NAS), replication, and disaster recovery configurations.
- Collaborate closely with Cybersecurity to reinforce hardening, vulnerability remediation, identity hygiene, and logging practices. Enhance monitoring and alerting across infrastructure platforms to ensure proactive detection and response.
- Contribute to disaster recovery planning, runbook creation, tabletop exercises, and failover testing.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering and 6+ years of equivalent work experience in Systems Engineering or Infrastructure Architecture, including at least 3–5 years working with compute platforms, and datacenter environments.
- Proven track record of driving change, innovation, automation, and process excellence in fast-paced, highly regulated environments.
- Strong hands-on experience across compute platforms, including Windows Server, Linux (Ubuntu/Red Hat), virtualization, storage, and networking. Knowledge of golden images.
- Experience managing compute in on-prem datacenters, virtual environments (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Advanced scripting and automation capabilities using PowerShell and Python, and experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Functional understanding of Directory Services (Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, LDAP), as well as core Internet protocols including DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S, SMTP, and SSL/TLS.
- Knowledge of firewall configuration, segmentation, and security policy implementation.
- Functional knowledge of backup and recovery platforms such as Druva, Commvault, Veeam, and DR planning/execution.
- Experience using ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools for ticketing, workflows, and lifecycle management.
Qualifications
- Nice to have (but not required): Experience with multi-site infrastructure deployments and geographically distributed systems. Experience working in regulated environments such as GxP, CSV, NIST, ISO, or other compliance-driven frameworks. Professional certifications such as MCSE, CCNA, AWS/GCP/Azure certifications, or related credentials are advantageous.
