About the role
Amentum, Nuclear Projects – Denver is seeking a Systems Engineer II to support nuclear and other high-hazard / high consequence projects. The Systems Engineer is responsible for requirements management, integration, and verification of client requirements across multi-disciplinary project teams to ensure successful delivery of complex engineering projects for the Department of Energy (DOE) and other nuclear clients.
Responsibilities
- Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in the development of requirements for nuclear infrastructure projects.
- Assemble and manage requirements to satisfy customers and project end goals.
- Adhere to the configuration management of systems generated deliverables.
- Communicate in a manner that is consistent, effective, and efficient in both written and oral forms, across all levels of the project (customer, internal resources, suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, etc.).
- Interface with client stakeholders to ensure project expectations are being met.
- Aid the project team and other stakeholders in developing interface definitions and controls to ensure integration across engineering disciplines and with owner and third-party vendor supplied special equipment.
- Support the management of requirements in a database tool to assist in documentation, control, and verification of requirements.
- Work with the project team to ensure requirements compliance and that requirements are satisfied during project delivery.
- Demonstrate the achievement of verification in a database tool and published reports.
Requirements
- US Citizen
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
- 2-5 years of Engineering experience.
- 2+ years of Systems Engineering experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Expertise in systems engineering and cross-functional collaboration.
- Knowledge of engineering disciplines associated with nuclear or other high-hazard / high-consequence facility infrastructure.
- Strong relationship management, facilitation, and consulting skills.
- Experience / knowledge of the Engineering Design Process (control of design inputs and verification/validation of outputs).
- Experience in utilizing a comprehensive requirements management system or a particular Requirements Management Tool (e.g. Jama, DOORS, etc.) preferred.
- Experience in writing and reviewing technical quality documentation.
- Experience working in safety and operational requirements, from initial design to final implementation, by managing requirements, conducting analyses, and verifying compliance.
- Experience working in industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Incorporation of INCOSE ASEP certification preferred.
- Proficiency in TraceCloud requirements management tool, desired.
- Knowledge of DOE orders, standards, and guidelines for nuclear facility design preferred.

Pay
Hiring salary range: $81,500K - $102,000 (Annually)
