About the role
The Systems Engineer at ActioNet assists in the design, implementation, and sustainment of Windows and Linux infrastructure supporting mission-critical systems in a classified environment. This role bridges engineering and operations, contributing to infrastructure architecture, build standards, and technical solutions while also providing hands-on operational support.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with customers, architects, and engineering teams in a technical role
- Aid in the design and implementation of Windows and Linux infrastructure solutions
- Develop and maintain system build standards, baselines, and configuration guidance
- Support system deployments from bare metal through production environments
- Evaluate infrastructure requirements and recommend technical solutions
- Support integration of compute, storage, networking, and virtualization platforms
- Maintain engineering documentation, diagrams, and system design artifacts
- Support audits, inspections, and accreditation activities
Requirements
- Strong Windows and Linux system engineering experience
- Experience with virtualization platforms and enterprise infrastructure
- Knowledge of system hardening, security controls, and compliance frameworks
- Familiarity with ACAS, SCAP, and system auditing tools
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship
- An active TS SCI clearance and eligibility for CI Poly
- Onsite support 90% of the time, limited travel
Skills
- CompTIA Security+
- VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV)
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Microsoft Windows Server certification
