Systems Engineer - Entry Level

About the Role

BAE Systems’ Precision Strike (PS) Business Area has immediate openings for junior-level Systems Engineers in the Precision Guidance and Sensing Solutions (PGSS) Product Line, specializing in RF Seeker development for IRADs and programs. You will work on the world’s most advanced electronics, including GPS devices for munitions and platforms, as well as multi-function seekers for threat detection in precision strike applications. This role offers a flexible work environment and the opportunity to contribute to impactful, next-generation military autonomy.

As a technical contributor on an integrated product team, you will participate in efforts across the full spectrum of technology maturation, including systems requirements generation, system design, modeling & simulation, integration & test, and production support. You will collaborate with engineering staff and team leaders to enhance knowledge and capabilities through engineering changes, lessons learned, Agile retrospectives, and product/process improvements in Radar seeker technology.

This role supports a hybrid work format, with time split between onsite and remote work, pending supervisor review and approval.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical contributor on an integrated product team developing multimodal/multifunction seekers.
• Participate in systems requirements generation, system design, modeling & simulation, integration & test, and production support.
• Work in a lab environment to conduct hands-on testing of prototype hardware and software for Radar/RF-based systems.
• Collaborate with engineering staff to drive knowledge growth and process improvements through Agile practices and lessons learned.
• Contribute to next-generation military autonomy projects with deeply impactful work.

Requirements

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• Internships or coursework focused on Radar systems integration, modeling, test, and/or troubleshooting.
• Strong mathematics skills and interest.
• Experience working with hardware in a lab environment.
• U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Interest in pursuing an advanced degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent.
• Understanding of radar modalities such as pulsed-Doppler, SAR, and HRR.
• Experience with CPU, GPU, and FPGA Radar signal processing and control.
• Experience with multi-modal seeker technologies (RF, EO/IR, SAL, GPS, VBN).
• Familiarity with Digital Engineering, Model-Based Systems Engineering (SysML), Model-Based Agile Engineering, and Agile principles.

Pay

Full-Time Salary Range: $59,023 – $100,339. Individual salaries are determined by factors including business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
