Systems Engineer - Contract

We are working with a successful agency in Austin, Texas, to find a Systems Engineer to join a small team for an infrastructure project. You will work directly with the Senior Systems Engineers at the agency. This is a six-month contract with the potential for a permanent position, and the role is on-site in central Austin. Candidates must be based in Austin or commutable to downtown.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, improve, and configure the Microsoft environment according to the needs of users and projects.
• Build a portfolio of policies, tools, and processes to recover or continue operations of critical IT infrastructure.
• Perform upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting on systems and hardware (Dell hardware environment).

Requirements

• Hands-on experience as a Systems Engineer familiar with the Microsoft Suite of products.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively with senior engineers.
• Strong communication skills.
• Must be based in Austin or commutable to downtown.

Bonus Points

• Microsoft Certification in Systems Engineer (MCSE).
• Government or state experience (helpful but not essential).
