Systems Engineer (Azure Cloud Engineer)

This full-time, office-based Systems Engineer role supports our rapidly growing corporate activities within the Information Technology team.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a point of contact for Infrastructure-related Cloud projects, questions, and issues.
- Participate in the design, implementation, and administration of Cloud-based platform solutions, collaborating with Application Architects, Software Development, Database, Storage, Networking, and Security teams to meet initial and future business requirements.
- Partner with Information Security to ensure proposed infrastructure solutions comply with Cloud security standards.
- Monitor new developments in emerging Cloud technology trends and identify new products with potential benefit to Medpace through in-depth research and analysis.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Azure features, services, and industry trends.
- Engage in the SDLC of new systems, technologies, and major system improvements, frequently handling or directing projects from research to implementation.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of cloud solutions.
- Ensure the feasibility of proposed projects and evaluate new software packages related to cost, resources, system capability, and other attributes.
- Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Python.
- Demonstrate the applicability of tools in real-world applications and investigate their use in the Medpace Infrastructure, recommending adoption of new technologies/methodologies when appropriate.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on best practices for cloud architecture, engineering, and governance.
- Execute performance tuning, monitoring, and optimization of cloud environments.
- Engage with vendors and third parties to support platforms and implement improvements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and services.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure, including 2+ years of focused support experience with Azure Cloud.
- Desire to learn and grow, with a solid foundation of experience.
- Aptitude to manage many different servers, applications, and priorities effectively.
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers, end users, and management.
- Strong work ethic and a "do what it takes" attitude.
- Aptitude to learn new technology.
