Systems Engineer

About the role

Systems Engineer position supporting MH-60M and MH-47G cockpit avionics for US Army Special Operations Aviation programs in Cedar Rapids, IA. This is a 6‑month contract with potential extension, requiring US citizenship or permanent residency.

Responsibilities

• Perform design, requirements, validation, & verification tasks for MH-60M and MH-47G cockpit avionics for the US Army Special Operations Aviation (SOA) programs.
• Perform Platform Systems specific on-site execution of requirements-based testing, robustness and ad-hoc testing in a lab environment (schedule flexibility is necessary during formal test phases).
• Support cross-functional team development with both external customer stakeholders and internal software and hardware engineering teams for different Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS) builds.
• Perform tasks using various engineering tools including TNT, DOORS, JIRA, PREP, Microsoft, SVN and others.
• Perform investigations of the Collins Aerospace lab hardware and environment; including integration investigations of the interfaces for Collins Aerospace equipment and government furnished equipment in the lab.

Requirements

• Relevant Systems Engineering job experience.
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• Working knowledge / understanding of data busses and protocols (Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553B, and ARINC-429).

Qualifications

• Military Avionics experience.
• Experience with TNT, DOORS, PREP, JIRA and/or Microsoft Office Suite is desired.

Pay

$45.00/hr - $61.00/hr on W2
