Responsibilities
- Sets government requirements into hardware, software, and antenna subsystem requirements
- Ensures requirements traceability from specs through design, test, and delivery
- Ensures subsystems integrate into a fully functioning terminal system
- Coordinates work across RF, digital, mechanical, and software teams
- Acts as a technical point of contact with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Represents engineering positions in formal reviews and field activities
- Supports and participates in PDR, CDR, TRR, SVR
- Develops and reviews: Requirements documents, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Compliance matrices, Test procedures and reports
- Supports and assists with satellite communications and security
- Assists with TRANSEC / cryptographic integration
- Ensures protected communications compliance
- Addresses integration constraints (e.g., antenna placement and articulation, RF cable routing, Ground clearance and load paths, EMI/EMC compatibility)
- Supports and participates in system-level integration and test
- Investigates anomalies and tracks corrective actions
- Evaluates subcontractor deliverables for gaps or risks
- Tracks technical risks, issues and action items, IMS inputs
- Prepares status reports and government briefings
Qualifications And Skills
- At least five (5) to seven (7) years of systems engineering experience on defense or SATCOM programs
- Knowledge in EHF/SHF SATCOM fundamentals; requirements analysis; formal design reviews; mobile military platform integration; interface definition; system integration; test execution; DoD SE framework and tools
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (EE, Systems, Computer, or Similar)
