Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Sets government requirements into hardware, software, and antenna subsystem requirements
• Ensures requirements traceability from specs through design, test, and delivery
• Ensures subsystems integrate into a fully functioning terminal system
• Coordinates work across RF, digital, mechanical, and software teams
• Acts as a technical point of contact with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams
• Represents engineering positions in formal reviews and field activities
• Supports and participates in PDR, CDR, TRR, SVR
• Develops and reviews: Requirements documents, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Compliance matrices, Test procedures and reports
• Supports and assists with satellite communications and security
• Assists with TRANSEC / cryptographic integration
• Ensures protected communications compliance
• Addresses integration constraints (e.g., antenna placement and articulation, RF cable routing, Ground clearance and load paths, EMI/EMC compatibility)
• Supports and participates in system-level integration and test
• Investigates anomalies and tracks corrective actions
• Evaluates subcontractor deliverables for gaps or risks
• Tracks technical risks, issues and action items, IMS inputs
• Prepares status reports and government briefings

Qualifications And Skills

• At least five (5) to seven (7) years of systems engineering experience on defense or SATCOM programs
• Knowledge in EHF/SHF SATCOM fundamentals; requirements analysis; formal design reviews; mobile military platform integration; interface definition; system integration; test execution; DoD SE framework and tools
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (EE, Systems, Computer, or Similar)
