Systems Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Systems Engineer to support and strengthen core infrastructure operations in Texas. This contract position with potential for a permanent role is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who can manage Microsoft-based environments, maintain reliable system performance, and contribute to day-to-day technical stability. The role will work across server administration, identity management, messaging systems, and virtualized access technologies while helping ensure a secure and efficient IT environment.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows Server environments to support reliable performance, availability, and security across business systems.
• Manage Active Directory and Azure Active Directory, including user access, group policies, identity controls, and directory health.
• Support Citrix-based platforms to provide stable remote access and virtual application delivery for end users.
• Oversee Microsoft Exchange administration, including mailbox management, system functionality, and issue resolution.
• Monitor infrastructure components, troubleshoot system-related problems, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Partner with internal teams and contract technical resources to maintain continuity of operations and address infrastructure priorities.
• Document configurations, operational procedures, and support activities to improve consistency and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience administering Active Directory in a business environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server platforms.
• Experience supporting Azure Active Directory and identity-related administration.
• Familiarity with Citrix technologies for virtual desktop or application delivery.
• Practical experience managing or supporting Microsoft Exchange.
• Ability to diagnose infrastructure issues and resolve technical problems efficiently.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative IT setting.
