About the role
OASYS, INC., a leading-edge government contractor in Huntsville, Alabama, is seeking a Systems Engineer to support our Air Force customer onsite at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the system engineering effort for a Department of War (DoW) software development project.
- Perform systems engineering activities across the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture design, integration, verification, and validation.
- Apply systems engineering processes and methodologies such as Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Agile, and DevSecOps frameworks.
- Model requirements digitally using systems engineering tools such as DOORS, Cameo Systems Modeler, and similar requirements management and modeling platforms.
- Demonstrate understanding of software architecture patterns, interface design, and system integration for complex defense applications.
- Manage technical baselines, configuration control, and change management processes.
- Coordinate with government stakeholders, contractors, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues and drive program execution.
- Understand cybersecurity requirements including CSRMC (formerly RMF), NIST 800-53, and DoD security technical implementation guides.
- Familiarity with Air Force mission systems, command and control architectures, or relevant operational domains is a plus.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Cyber, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or other STEM discipline; years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
- INCOSE CSEP, ESEP, or similar systems engineering certification is a plus.
- 3–5 years of experience.
- Active Secret Clearance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Qualifications
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance; an active Secret Clearance is highly desired.
