Systems Engineer

About the role

OASYS, INC., a leading-edge government contractor in Huntsville, Alabama, is seeking a Systems Engineer to support our Air Force customer onsite at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the system engineering effort for a Department of War (DoW) software development project.
• Perform systems engineering activities across the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture design, integration, verification, and validation.
• Apply systems engineering processes and methodologies such as Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Agile, and DevSecOps frameworks.
• Model requirements digitally using systems engineering tools such as DOORS, Cameo Systems Modeler, and similar requirements management and modeling platforms.
• Demonstrate understanding of software architecture patterns, interface design, and system integration for complex defense applications.
• Manage technical baselines, configuration control, and change management processes.
• Coordinate with government stakeholders, contractors, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues and drive program execution.
• Understand cybersecurity requirements including CSRMC (formerly RMF), NIST 800-53, and DoD security technical implementation guides.
• Familiarity with Air Force mission systems, command and control architectures, or relevant operational domains is a plus.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Cyber, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or other STEM discipline; years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
• INCOSE CSEP, ESEP, or similar systems engineering certification is a plus.
• 3–5 years of experience.
• Active Secret Clearance.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Qualifications

• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance; an active Secret Clearance is highly desired.
