Systems Engineer

About the role

Sem-Sol, a GRVTY company, is seeking a Systems Engineer to help integrate the organization into larger systems and translate its capabilities into language that the Department of Defense community readily understands. The ideal candidate will have a combination of experience and communication skills to work with internal and external customers to achieve visible results, giving Sem-Sol a competitive edge in the defense contracting industry.

What You'll Be Owning

• Interacting with the Department of Defense and large aerospace companies.
• Working with the chief engineer and program managers of several projects.
• Responsibility for requirements generation, analysis, decomposition, and review with customers.
• Generating and maintaining interface control documents, validation and verification plans, and test plans.
• Managing configuration processes, performing functional analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
• Evaluating customer needs against system performance requirements, integrating technical parameters, and assuring compatibility with all system interfaces.
• Ensuring the planning, organization, implementation, and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risks, and opportunities meet Sem-Sol and contractual requirements.
• Overseeing analyses for reliability, maintainability, human systems integration on subsystem and system architecture.
• Formalizing the system engineering approach and tools to be used at Sem-Sol.

What You Must Have

• Active Security Clearance or ability to obtain a security clearance.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• 5+ years’ experience in an engineering role.
• Effective communicator.
• Ability to effectively work on multiple tasks with changing priorities.
• Experience with hardware and software development, integration, and test.
• Formalizing the system engineering approach and tools to be used at Sem-Sol.

What Would Be Nice To Have

• Advanced degree in Physics, Engineering, or Math.
• Degree or certification in systems engineering.
• Previous experience as a systems engineer for a Department of Defense program.
• Experience with software tools such as CATIA.
• Experience with drawing release processes.
• Experience with hardware and software configuration management.
