Responsibilities
- Engineer and implement real-time automation controls and information solutions from the plant floor to the enterprise level.
- Contribute during the design phase of the project life cycle, including conceptualizing solutions.
- Develop, program, debug, and test systems using a variety of tools and platforms.
- Create comprehensive documentation, including project engineering notes, proposals, design traceability, case studies, and more.
- Commission new solutions at client sites and identify opportunities for improvements.
- Develop methodologies and solve complex problems.
- Stay current with new technologies and mentor colleagues based on your expertise.
Requirements
- Successful or upcoming completion of a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related Engineering Technology degree.
- Academic or working experience with some or all of the following technologies:
- PLC Programming Platforms: Rockwell / Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, Modicon, GE, etc.
- HMI Platforms: Rockwell / Allen-Bradley, Wonderware, Schneider Electric, etc.
- SCADA Platforms: Rockwell / Allen-Bradley, Inductive Automation, Wonderware, GE, Siemens, etc.
- System Networking: Ethernet, Routing and Switching, EthernetIP, Profibus. Experience with DeviceNet, ControlNet, DH+, Remote IO, Modbus, etc. is preferred but not required.
- Vision Platforms: Cognex, Datalogic, Keyence, etc.
- Experience with Python, Historian (PI System), and databases is a plus.
- Project Documentation: Microsoft Office.
- Meticulous, analytical, and focused self-starter with strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid Driver’s License with full-time access to a personal vehicle.
- Willingness to travel up to 30-50% within the USA and Canada.
