About the role

Design, implement, support, and manage enterprise servers, systems, and managed services for Bucks IU and its constituent districts. Provide technical support, training, and troubleshooting for staff, as well as support for computers, servers, systems, and managed services.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, support, and manage enterprise servers, systems, and managed services.
  • Support computer hardware, devices, peripherals, equipment, and operating systems.
  • Coordinate support and projects with technical vendors, contractors, consultants, and service providers.
  • Design and implement client lifecycle solutions for server, desktop, and mobile platforms including Microsoft System Center, Microsoft Intune, and JAMF for Windows and Apple iOS platforms.
  • Oversee the design and maintenance of cloud-based solutions including Microsoft Azure, Office 365, Intune, Google Suite, and other platforms.
  • Serve as the lead for consultative support to districts and other contracted customers.
  • Administer and maintain various backup solutions, including Rubrik and Veeam.
  • Administer and maintain various server virtualization systems, including VMWare, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Nutanix.
  • Administer and maintain enterprise infrastructure including physical and virtual server hosts.
  • Design, implement, and support enterprise storage solutions including SAN platforms.
  • Assist with the support of the Regional Wide Area Network (RWAN) and associated systems.
  • Create and maintain excellent technical documentation.
  • Oversee the design and maintenance of Active Directory and Microsoft Entra Active Directory infrastructure.
  • Assist with the creation and execution of technical bids and service contracts.
  • Provide on-site and remote technical support; provide emergency on-call support for on-site and remote technical issues 24/7/365, as needed.
  • Design and coordinate the team-effort to build and maintain program-specific application and device images for server, desktop, and mobile devices.
  • Present at and represent Bucks IU at regional, statewide, and national events, conferences, and workshops.
  • Seek new and innovative ways to develop and deploy technical services for Bucks IU and countywide stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support for conference rooms, audio-visual equipment, and video conferencing systems.
  • Provide timely recommendations to improve technical services.
  • Create and deliver technical training schedules, content, and programs.
  • Lead enterprise technical initiatives and projects according to specified budgets, timelines, and expectations.
  • Configure devices for connection to network(s).
  • Perform system and device installation within Bucks IU, its offsite locations, and school districts.
  • Identify computer-related problems and provide solutions via telephone, personal contact, or remote diagnosis for all Bucks IU staff users (help desk, software, and hardware questions).
  • Interpret, assimilate, and utilize technical information relative to network hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
  • Configure, test, and repair computer equipment peripherals (scanners, cameras, printers, etc.) as necessary.
  • Provide technical assistance for users and devices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or technical school.
  • Significant knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and hardware.
  • Significant knowledge of network-based applications, client lifecycle, cloud technologies, disaster recovery, and enterprise architecture and systems design.
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert certification or equivalent experience supporting Microsoft systems.
  • Excellent organizational, project planning, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Technical aptitude for computer equipment, especially relating to networks, servers, user devices, personal computing devices, and Macintosh and Windows Operating Systems.
  • Ability to develop and present demonstration material to groups and individuals.
  • Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Citizenship or work authorization to work in the United States.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to sit and use hands.
  • Frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • May be required to stand for long periods, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Schedule

This is a full-time, 260-day calendar position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, generally from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Occasional travel required (up to 25% of the time).
