Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, integrates, and maintains complex systems, ensuring they meet both technical requirements and customer needs.
- Conducts system architecture analysis, modeling, and trade studies to determine optimal solutions.
- Supports requirements gathering, decomposition, and traceability throughout the system lifecycle.
- Performs systems integration, testing, verification, and validation activities.
- Collaborates closely with software engineers, network engineers, security teams, and stakeholders to ensure system interoperability and compliance.
- Troubleshoots and resolves system-level issues related to performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Develops and maintains system documentation, including design documents, ICDs, and operational procedures.
- Provides input to risk assessments, mitigations, and contingency plans.
- Supports deployment and sustainment activities, including patch management, upgrades, and system monitoring.
- Ensures systems meet cybersecurity and compliance standards, collaborating with ISSOs and ISSEs as needed.
Requirements
- Strong technical expertise in operating systems (Linux, Windows Server, Unix, macOS), virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), networking protocols and hardware (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, VLANs, firewalls, routers, switches), system monitoring and management tools (Splunk, SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix), configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, SaltStack), infrastructure automation and scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell), system design methodologies and documentation (use case diagrams, ICDs, system block diagrams).
- Experience with security frameworks (NIST SP 800-53, RMF, DoD STIGs, FedRAMP).
- Knowledge of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Experience with collaboration tools (JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow).
- Security certifications such as CISSP, Security+, and technical certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, VMware VCP, Cisco CCNA/CCNP.
Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship required. Top Secret/SCI clearance with full scope polygraph required. Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and integration with cloud and on-premises environments preferred.
Skills
Technical skills in operating systems, virtualization, cloud platforms, networking, system monitoring, configuration management, infrastructure automation, and security frameworks.
