Systems Engineer
About the role
The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is seeking a Model Base Systems Engineer (MBSE) for the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. This position supports the design, development, implementation, and sustainment of complex systems using model-based systems engineering principles.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise of JSE MBSE efforts to support design, development, implementation, and sustainment of complex systems using model-based systems engineering principles.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, create and verify system models, and ensure the successful delivery of products.
- Provide technical expertise and engineering support to implement MBSE and other digital engineering practices for JSE within AFLCMC/WNR.
- Comply with the WNR MBSE Modeling Guide when performing modeling work.
- Work as part of a Scrum Team, supporting Agile practices.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship
- TS/SCI security clearance
- Prior Model Based Systems Engineering experience using the Cameo software
- Prior experience with Systems Modeling Language (SysML)
- Ability to comply with the WNR MBSE Modeling Guide
- Desired skills include experience with Unified Architecture Framework Modeling Language (UAFML), Digital Engineering, Digital Materiel Management, acquisition life cycle, or the software acquisition pathway, and experience with Jira/Jama/Confluence tools.
Qualifications
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
Skills
- OCSMP certification preferred
- A/C/E SEP certification preferred

Mission Statement: The Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) AF will provide an indoor, multi-level security (MLS), multi-domain, real time, modeling and simulation (M&S) environment in which the Air Force will conduct Developmental Tests (DT), Operational Tests (OT), High-End Advanced Training, Tactics, and Test (HEAT3) development, multi-fidelity experimentation, and analysis of material improvements of integrated 4th, 5th, and next generation AF systems against a variety of Integrated Air Defense Systems (IADS) and air threats.
